The price seems high, but they're worth every penny--extremely well made and durable. Very warm, but never itchy or sweaty. Elastic holds well but is not tight. I have four pairs, and they've lasted over five years (I've stopped counting). I keep my thermostat at 60 degrees and I wear a pair every day from October - March, so I'm guessing each pair has been worn over 200 times--and they're still as strong and warm as ever. A real quality product, and a blessing for anyone who hates having cold feet. I'm tempted to purchase these at the sale price for future use, even though I don't need them yet!

I had been looking for a pair of warm socks for below freezing temperatures days that I go hiking with my dog. A few weeks of 10 F and I realized my regular socks just weren't cutting it, even with good boots!

At first glance the sticker price seemed ridiculously high for a single pair of socks, but I can honestly say they are worth the price and I'm glad I made the purchase! It was 5 degrees today and for the first time in a long time, my feet were warm the entire walk! Very comfy!

The sizes run just about right. I wear a 9-9.5 in US woman's shoes. The label says to go with a medium; however at the retail store I was advised to go with a large (US woman's 10 and up), and they do seem to be a tad big. Maybe they'll shrink?

I will definitely be investing in more pairs! Best pair of socks I can ever remember wearing!

Socks feel great, unfortunately when I ordered I thought it said something about two pairs for what $18 or something, but alas it was just the one pair. I believe it is on the site now as (1 Pair). Too expensive for my tastes really, 10$ plus 3$ shipping would seem more fair with an occasional sale price of 6$ for a pair. Ooops!

I have been wearing my pair of Niki boots for three years now, pairing them with dressy business wear (slacks) and play clothes (jeans, sweats, fleece)- and looking fab, in my humble opinion (tee hee) here in chilly New England, where if the ice, snow, sleet and mud don't get you, the salt and sand will. I have NEVER polished these oiled leather boots. I just brush them with a shoe polishing brush and the classy satin finish returns. They look brand new after 3 years of punishment. They are lined with Gore-Tex, making them great insulators and utterly waterproof. Inside is that unmistakable Mephisto construction: anatomically designed arch support and motion control with removable cork insoles and cunningly placed airbag cushions in the lug sole that reduce the mechanical shock of walking (or standing) like no other shoes on earth. Yes, they are expensive. But they are beautifully hand-made and classy and amazingly durable. Mine show every sign of lasting for many years. The salesman who got me started collecting Mephisto footwear actually apologized to me when he sold me my first pair - knowing that once I had worn a pair of "The World's Finest Walking Shoes" I would be stuck on that brand forever and satisfied with nothing else from that moment on. He was right. I forgive him.
